So this past week I decided to finally take part in the Hupages 100 Hubs in 30 Days challenge after some motivation from seeing Court’s hub’s earnings for last week. Over 100 bucks in pure Adsense revenue after only two weeks is pretty incredible. I had been doing Hubs for my niche sites anyway so I figured what the hell why not give this a shot and see if I can get some backlinks and make some extra money while I’m at it.
Well a week later and I’m a whole $35 richer! Okay so I understand that I’m not Court and don’t have his knowledge in picking the perfect keywords just yet, but I was expecting a bit more from them. Of course I haven’t had time to do a lot of backlinking yet but I do plan on doing it soon. I have some hubs that are on the first page 3-7th results that I could push up there with a few more links but I also have quite a few that I can’t even find. They just need more time, I know.
The first few were going after some keywords with low to medium competition and I can tell those probably won’t rank without a solid link building campaign. I started targeting no competition keywords to see if I could rank those without any links and so far most of them have hit the first page but I still am not getting any clicks. I’m even writing for Adsense using short posts that don’t give all the answers. I’m a little discouraged but I’m going to stick with it until I get 100 Hubs out there. It probably won’t be till after a week or so when it ends since I started late but that doesn’t really matter.
So far though I have learned a bit more about picking profitable keywords through the keyword academy process which will be great later on when I add more niche sites from the Hubs that do well. If all else fails they give some great link juice to my niche sites – I have a few PR3 and lots of PR2 hubs since the last update.
